WELCOME HOME

After starting the 2013-14 campaign on the road, the Wolves play their 20th home opener on Saturday against San Antonio; Chicago has registered a 12-6-1-0 mark in home openers but just a 5-5-1-0 record under head coach JOHN ANDERSON.

WOLVES HEADLINES

--- Jake Allen: Thwarted 41 of 42 shots to earn the win in his Wolves debut Friday night, which included holding San Antonio scoreless for the first 50:04 of the contest and stopping 14 of 15 shots in the final frame ... Registered a 9-4-0 mark, 2.46 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and one shutout in 15 NHL games with St. Louis last year en route to being named to the 2013 NHL All-Rookie Team ... Appeared in 35 AHL contests with the Peoria Rivermen last season, earning a 13-19-2 record, 2.89 goals-against average, and .904 save percentage

--- Corey Locke: Bagged a goal in his Wolves debut on Friday and added an assist on Saturday to pace the team with 2 points over the weekend ... Began the 2012-13 campaign with TPS Turku of the Finnish Elite League, where he collected 12 assists and 17 points in 37 tilts before moving to Germany ... Accrued 7 points (G, 6A) in 16 outings with Berlin of the German League

--- Dmitrij Jaskin: Tallied the eventual game-winning marker 45 seconds into the second period in his Wolves debut Friday night, which marked his first North American professional strike ... Shared fourth in the QMJHL with 46 markers and ranked fifth in the league with 99 points in 51 games with the Moncton Wildcats last year ... Ranked 15th in the QMJHL with 53 assists and shared 12th with 13 power-play goals in 2012-13 ... Skated in two NHL games with St. Louis last year at the conclusion of his junior season

--- Jani Hakanpaa: Posted the lone goal for Chicago in its 4-1 defeat to Texas on Saturday ... Accrued five points (2G, 3A) and 34 penalty minutes in 34 outings with Espoo of the Finnish Elite League last season before coming over to North America on March 15 ... Registered four points (G, 3A) and six penalty minutes in 14 AHL contests with Peoria last year

--- Michael Davies: Dished out an assist in two games last week ... Has recorded a point in two of his four season openers with the Wolves, while the other two years he scored a point in his second contest ... Shared fourth on Chicago with a career-best 15 goals and ninth with a career-most 25 points in 57 games last season

WOLF TRACKS

--- Head coach JOHN ANDERSON improved his opening night record with the Wolves to 9-2-1-0 with the team’s win on Friday over San Antonio.

--- Right wing Ty Rattie made his professional debut over the weekend and collected a +2 plus/minus rating and three shots; the 20-year-old rookie ranked second in the WHL with 48 goals and third in the league with 110 points in 62 matchups with the Portland Winterhawks last season.

--- Center Keith Aucoin was held scoreless in his Wolves debut over the weekend; the 34-year-old forward, who split the 2012-13 campaign between the New York Islanders (NHL) and Toronto Marlies (AHL) last season, opened the year with three straight scoreless tilts before dishing out 3 helpers in his fourth game with Toronto.

--- The Wolves fired off just six shots combined in the two third periods they have played this season; the team averaged 9.25 shots per final frame last season.

--- Chicago surrendered a man-advantage marker in both of its contests over the weekend (seven of nine); the club ranked 28th in the AHL with an 80.3 efficiency rating on the penalty kill last year (232 of 289).

--- The Wolves failed to score on all seven of their power-play chances last weekend; Chicago ranked 14th in the AHL with a 17.1 conversion rate on the man-advantage last season (51 of 298).

THE TOP DOGS

--- For the 13th straight season, the Wolves have teamed up with the City of Chicago’s Department of Animal Care and Control to help find loving families for dogs. Visit “SKATES’ SIDEKICKS,” in the South lobby of the Allstate Arena on Saturday and take home a furry friend! Over 1,000 dogs have found homes through Wolves Adopt-a-Dog nights since the program’s inception in 2001.
